Hooria Jazaieri, LMFT, is the founder of Outlook CBT, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFC 53748), and an instructor and researcher at Stanford University and the University of California, Berkeley.
From executives to children, Hooria has over 10 years of clinical experience working with a wide range of individuals, couples, groups, families, children, and corporations. Her counseling areas of interest and expertise include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), couples, marital, and premarital counseling, anxiety, depression, divorce, career and life coaching, mindfulness, emotion regulation, positive psychology, and stress management.
Hooria completed her intensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) with Drs. Marsha Linehan and Shari Manning in September 2010 and currently participants in a weekly, intensively-trained, DBT Consultation Team meeting and ongoing clinical supervision with Dr. Shari Manning. She completed her advance DBT training wth Drs. Shari Manning and Katherine Comtois in April 2017. Hooria completed training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) from Dr. Richard Heimberg and currently attends a weekly CBT training and supervision group at Stanford University, is a member of California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT), Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT), and the American Psychological Association (APA). Additionally, Hooria has authored numerous articles, research publications, and book chapters in the areas of neuroscience, CBT, emotion regulation, mindfulness, compassion, and anxiety. She has also been featured in popular outlets including the Wall Street Journal and TODAY. Hooria's formal education background includes the University of Washington, Santa Clara University, and the University of California, Berkeley.
In addition to her therapy work, Hooria is also an accomplished researcher, consultant, and teacher. Hooria has extensive experience conducting clinical research at various institutions. She also has experience leading and co-leading group therapy including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) groups at Stanford University and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills training groups. Hooria has experience conducting business consulting and executive coaching with technology and non-profit organizations in Silicon Valley, and is a certified teacher of the Search Inside Yourself (SIY) program, a mindfulness-based emotional intelligence program developed at Google. She is also a certified Compassion Cultivation Training™ (CCT) instructor through the Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education (CCARE) at Stanford University and teaches CCT at Stanford University's School of Medicine as well as in private practice. Hooria is an adjunct professor at Santa Clara University in the Counseling Psychology master's program.
