DBT Group Therapy Treatment in San Jose & Silicon Valley

We currently offer several group therapy programs. All groups are led (and in some instances, co-led) by an intensively trained DBT therapist. All groups require weekly attendance and homework completion.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Adult Skills Training Groups
    • In this adult skills training group, we teach all four modules of DBT (Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance, and Interpersonal Effectiveness)
    • Each module consists of 6-8 weekly, 1.5 hr classes
    • Per the DBT model, all individuals must simultaneously be in individual DBT counseling

  • Family and Friends DBT Skills Training Group
    • Modeled after Marsha Linehan's DBT Family and Friends Skills Training Group, this group is designed for friends and family members who want strategies for relating to challenging people in their lives.
    • Through this group you will improve your skills for managing intense emotions, tolerating distress, reducing ineffective behavior, enhancing awareness, and increasing interpersonal effectiveness.

  • Couples DBT Skills Training Groups
    • Are you a high conflict couple? Have you tried couples counseling to no avail? Our couples group is informed by the evidence based treatment of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and is based on Dr. Alan Fruzetti's work at the University of Nevada Reno. Both partners take part in a weekly group and learn the skills and are given homework and exercise to practice together throughout the week.
